Effective March 24, 2020, Findlay Township updated our COVID-19 guidelines for our building, parks, events and employees. Please see the following list for details. These guidelines may be updated as new directives are issued.

Canceled, Closed or Postponed

* Municipal Building offices are closed to visitors. Any payments can be left in the lobby at the appropriate window. Staff is on a modified work schedule to limit exposure.

* Activity Center and Pavilions are closed until further notice.

* Township Parks remain open. However, all restrooms are closed. Portable restrooms are provided at the Recreation & Sports Center. Please practice Social Distancing if you visit one of our parks.


* Stormwater Fee payments have been extended to May 31, 2020.

* All Building and Plumbing Inspections have been suspended.

* All Findlay Athletic Association and West Allegheny Soccer Association activities scheduled for our parks have been canceled until further notice.

Recreation Department

* No reservations are being accepted through the end of April for the Activity Center, Municipal Building Room or any Pavilions. This restriction may be extended in upcoming weeks. Please check the Township website ( for updates.

* All Senior Citizen activities are canceled through the end of April.

Crochet for a Cause on March 26th
Senior Bingo on March 27th
Linus Project on March 28th
Kindness Rock Painting on March 28th
Easter Egg Hunt on April 4th
Toddlers on April 6th and 7th

Senior Citizens meeting on April 15th (will notify with Newsletter, email and possibly Swiftreach)
AARP on March 16th, 21st and 22nd (cancelled by AARP)
Community Clean-up on April 25th (cancelled by Keep PA Beautiful)
Senior Bingo on April 24th


* March 24th Planning Commission has been canceled
* March 26th Board of Supervisors has been closed to the public. Go to Board of Supervisors under Government, Agendas, Meetings and select March 26th for agenda. If you have any questions, please email them to our Township Manager at


* Officers will continue to respond to emergencies
* All non-emergency calls that can be handled by phone, will be

Municipal Building

* The Township Municipal Building is closed to visitors until further notice. If you have a question or concern, please call. Even though staff is on a modified work schedule, someone will answer or return your call.

Findlay Township Municipal Authority

* The Authority offices are closed to the public. However, if you have a question or concern, there is someone in the office to answer your phone call.

* Please mail in all payments or drop off at the box provided outside the Municipal Building.

Imperial Volunteer Fire Department and Northwest Ambulance

* The Imperial Volunteer Fire Department and Northwest Ambulance will respond to emergencies. If you need those services, please limit your contact with first responders by practicing social distancing.

* Fish Fry. The Imperial Volunteer Fire Department Lenten Season Fish Fry will continue on Fridays only as a take-out service.

Trash and Recycling (updated March 24, 2020)

Waste Management has notified us that trash and recycling will be picked up as normal on Thursdays. However, all trash MUST BE BAGGED AND SEALED when placed in containers. Loose items WIL NOT be collected. Any items left outside of bins will not be collected. Bulk collections and spring yard waste collection have been suspended until further notice.

Western Allegheny Community Library is closed until further notice.

How to Protect Yourself

* Clean your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds or hand sanitizers that contains at least 60% alcohol.

* Avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth.

* Avoid close contact with people who are sick.

* Stay home if you are sick.

* Cover your mouth and nose when you cough or sneeze

* Wear a face mask if you are sick. You do not need a face mask if you are not sick unless you are caring for someone who is sick. Face masks are in short supply and caregivers need them.

* Clean and Disinfect surfaces daily.

* Optional household disinfectant solutions:
5 tablespoons (1/3 cup) bleach per gallon of water
4 teaspoons bleach per quart of water

Findlay Township and its staff will continue to work to ensure that services such as police, EMS, water and sewage, trash collection and customer services will be provided during this time. The Township will monitor daily updates from the County, State and Federal agencies and adjust accordingly. The safety and well-being of our residents are the utmost importance to us.
