  1. AARP Safe Driving Class

    The AARP Driver Safety Program is the nation’s first and largest classroom refresher course designed for motorists 55 and older. This eight hour course is taught in two, four hour sessions over two days. The course helps refine existing driving skills and develop safe, defensive driving techniques. THERE ARE NO DRIVING TESTS INVOLVED. Upon completion of the course, participants are eligible to receive a state mandated multi-year discount on their auto insurance premiums. Contact your insurance carrier for information on the discount. Not all companies give the same discount. Husbands and wives must both attend class to qualify for a discount.

  3. Crochet for a Cause

    April 25, 2019, 6:30 PM - 8:00 PM @ Activity Center - Lower Level

    Join us monthly as we create chemo caps, preemie caps and 6”x6” squares that will be placed together for lap blankets. All items will be delivered to local area hospitals and patient care centers where needed. The love and time put into these crocheted items by volunteers is beyond compare. No experience is necessary to be a part of this cause; yarn donations are graciously accepted! Also accepted are completed 6”x6” squares for the lap blankets and blankets of 38” to 48” that are already finished. We look forward to seeing you there!

  4. Semi-Super Morning Bingo

    April 26, 2019, 9:00 AM @ Activity Center - Upper Level

    COST: $10 per packet Includes: 1 triple card for each game and each. (Additional packets can be purchased for $5). Coverall jackpots will be sold separately for $1 each Bingo daubers are also available to purchase. Coffee, water and light refreshments will be provided. Of course we are in the winter season in Pittsburgh, so in the event of inclement weather, you can call the Township at 724–695–0500 to check for cancellation.

  5. Community Tire Collection Event

    The Independence Conservancy, in conjunction with Findlay Township, will be holding its annual tire collection. Last year’s effort collected over 400 tires from residents and non-residents. This non-profit foundation has been restoring and protecting our local land and water since 1999. All of the tires are sheared, and rims are hauled away for recycling. Donations for tire disposal: $3 per passenger car or light truck tire - rim size: 12", 13", 14", 15", 16", 16.5" & 17" Additional $2 for any of the above that are on a rim $5 large tires – 19”, 20”, 22” $20 per tractor trailer - 19" to 22" No rims $20 per farm tractor rear tire up to 75 lbs. No rims $40 per farm tractor rear, 75 – 150 lbs. No rims $75 per farm tractor rear, over 150 lbs. No rims

  6. Spring Community Clean Up

    Findlay and North Fayette Townships are collaborating again to organize a community clean-up day. Donate a few short hours to help make our community a place we can be proud of. We encourage any youth groups or high school students to come out and accumulate some community service hours. If you would like to volunteer, please call Stephanie at the township office. Bags, gloves and vests provided. If possible, volunteers need to provide their own transportation to and from their clean-up site.

  3. SPRING LEAF & YARD WASTE COLLECTION

    April 27, 2019, 6:00 AM @ Curbside

    Waste Management has scheduled their Spring Leaf & Yard Waste Collection for Saturday, April 27, 2019. Please have all leaf and yard waste at curbside on by 6:00 a.m. All leaf and yard waste MUST be in brown paper leaf bags (available at stores such as Lowe's, Home Depot, Agway, Walmart, etc.). NO PLASTIC BAGS WILL BE COLLECTED. Limbs must be 36" or less and bundled together.
